TU/e to restart education on Monday
The TU/e expects education, which was halted this week due to the cyberattack, to restart on Monday despite recent DDoS attacks on the Surf network, of which the university is a part. While these attacks may cause internet issues, the plan to restart education remains unchanged.
'We are still on track to restart education next Monday,' the university announced in an update on its website at 5 PM Friday. Starting Saturday, all network-related systems will be available again, except for the VPN connection. Functional tests will be conducted over the weekend, and minor disruptions may still occur. Students and staff are asked for patience and understanding.
Schedules for week 8 and the exam period of quarter 2 will be published today at 5 PM in TE Timetable. Exams have been postponed by one week, and the updated academic calendar is already available via the Study Guide.
The TU/e is exploring ways to minimize study delays and workload pressure. Vice President Patrick Groothuis emphasized appreciation for the flexibility shown by students, researchers, and lecturers during this challenging time.
Further updates on the impact for students and staff will follow today at 7 PM through the university’s official channels.
