Devesh Bapat has dark hair and brown eyes, according to the description spread by international student association Cosmos via Instagram. He is 1.75 meters tall and weighs about 70 kilograms.

Bapat is completing a bachelor's degree in Applied Physics and he is a member of Cosmos. He is of Indian descent and his family lives in Dubai. “At the beginning of February, Devesh's family contacted us, his friends,” says study friend Marco Brunacci. “They couldn't get in touch with him anymore. When we checked when we had last seen Devesh, we figured out February 1. He was then working out at the student sports center. After that, none of us were able to get in touch with him either.”

Police

Bapat's friends are trying to check all the places where he could be. A detective of the Eindhoven police also says she is looking for Bapat: "We are working on a timeline. For example, we would like to know when he last logged into his digital student environment.” For now, the police has few clues as to where Bapat is. “We are still completely in the dark.”

Concerns

The university is also aware of the situation and sympathizes, TU/e spokesman Ivo Jongsma writes in a response: "Since about a week and a half we have been aware that a student is missing. We take this seriously and are in good contact with the police and with the student's family about this. We understand the concerns of family, friends and fellow students and we empathize with them. We are doing everything we can to help the police obtain information."
