Sham Moodliar managing director of CE&C
The Executive Board has appointed Sham Moodliar as managing director of the department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry with effect from 1 October. All board positions at the department are fulfilled. In August, Jos Keurentjes was already appointed as dean.
‘Moodliar has extensive international experience in leading organisations through major change processes’, writes the university in a press release. ‘The new managing director worked in top management positions for IT and consultancy firms in Europe (including the Netherlands), Asia and Africa. Moodliar is South African by birth and lives in Son en Breugel.’
Last month, Jos Keurentjes was already appointed as dean, a temporary position because 'the department needs to start a transition to a future-proof situation,' a TU/e spokesperson announced at the time. Keurentjes is looking forward to working with Moodliar to implement the necessary changes at the department. 'Sham is very people-centric and knows a lot about leading change processes. I think he is the ideal person to help give renewed direction to the department.'
In the press release, Patrick Groothuis, vice-president of the Executive Board, says he is pleased with Sham’s international experience in leading change processes. 'We think he will make an excellent duo with Jos Keurentjes, the new dean. The new department board faces considerable challenges, but we expect Sham and Jos are exceptionally capable of successfully leading the department in this.'
