TU/e students most satisfied with atmosphere and study facilities
The results of the annual National Student Survey (NSE) show that TU/e students are generally just as satisfied with their studies as they were in previous years. They consistently give an average score of 3.9 on a scale of 5. Master programs are rated a little higher this year with a 4.0 score. Students are especially satisfied with the atmosphere and study facilities. Examination and grading and especially the connection to professional practice score lower.
More than 4,000 TU/e students took the time to fill in the survey this year. Although they are generally satisfied with their studies, TU/e does score slightly lower than other technical universities.
Just over a quarter of the students are dissatisfied about the contact with professional practice, but the atmosphere and study facilities both get a high score of 4.1. Ninety percent of the students reported they feel safe to be themselves at the university. More specific figures for TU/e can be found on the NSE Dashboard (for now only available in Dutch, an English version will follow later).
Of all programs at TU/e, the master Industrial and Applied Mathematics scores the highest (with an average score of 4.2). Three students in the video below are satisfied with this master too. They are particularly pleased with the number of electives. Although, at the same time, these also cause all three students to graduate with a completely different set of subjects within the same master. “I would like more specific masters, for specific topics."
