Six TU/e names in FRITS top 50
Every year, city glossy FRITS lists the fifty most influential female top executives and the fifty most influential male top executives in the Brainport region. The top 50 of 2024 includes six members of TU/e staff: Robert-Jan Smits, Maarten Steinbuch, Caroline Hummels, Isabelle Reymen, Mark Bentum, and Isolde Hallensleben.
The 2024 winners were announced at the Evoluon on December 9: Maartje Schagen, CEO of Simac Techniek, and top executive at VDL Willem van der Leegte. The Eindhoven magazine FRITS organizes annual elections for the most influential women and men in the region, resulting in two top 50s. In the 2024 editions of both lists we find a total of six TU/e names, three women and three men.
Caroline Hummels, professor of Design and Theory for Transformative Qualities at Industrial Design, finished in 16th place among the female top executives. In places 21 and 42, respectively, we find Isabelle Reymen and Isolde Hallensleben, both from TU/e innovation Space. Reymen is a director and also professor of Design of Innovation Ecosystems and Hallensleben develops Art & Tech Projects.
In the list of male top executives, Executive Board president Robert-Jan Smits is in 9th place. He is followed by professor of Systems and Control Maarten Steinbuch in 13th place and professor of Radio Science Mark Bentum, also dean of Electrical Engineering, in 36th place.
