MomenTUm in pictures
Last Friday, the MomenTUm ceremony saw not only the awarding of fourteen hundred bachelor’s degrees, but also that of the Best Teacher awards, the Academic Awards and the Marina van Damme grant. Below, Cursor presents a photo report of the festivities, starting with the student party on Thursday evening in the Markthal at MetaForum.
This Friday, the Markthal hosted more than five thousand students and family members during the annual MomenTUm ceremony, which took place in two sessions; but on Thursday night, it was the venue for a great student party. The lineup included Lefgozers, Het Feestteam, the Mystery Beats, The Night Flight and last but not least, DJ Outsiders.

Best teachers
The award for Best Bachelor Teacher 2023 was awarded to Florent Gauvin of the Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences bachelor’s program. The jury appreciated his practical assignments that put students to work creating something that is not just aesthetically pleasing, but actually works in practice. For the master’s programs, the 2023 Best Master Teacher award went to Karel van Donselaar of Industrial Engineering. He was chosen by the jury for his motivating and clear approach to imparting knowledge.
Academic Awards
Each year, a maximum of one graduate per program is nominated by the program’s dean. The winners of the best thesis were chosen by an independent expert jury, and everyone on the TU/e campus had the opportunity to vote until September 27. The winning Bachelor graduate is Renate Debets (Electrical Engineering) and the winning Master in Science is Jorn van Kampen (Automotive Technology).
This year’s audience award went to Rowin Bol, a brand new MSc from the Department of Built Environment. He was the only candidate to receive more than 500 of the total 3606 votes cast.
An exhibition of all nominees will be on display at TU/e next to the pond at Atlas until October 6, and at The Strip on the High Tech Campus from October 7 to October 16.
Marina van Damme grant
This year’s Marina van Damme grant was awarded to Elies Koot, a young real estate developer and TU/e alumna. She will use the grant to train as a supervisory director at Erasmus University and fulfill her dream of becoming a young female supervisory director of a housing association.
