Intro 2021 | Campus Market is full-on
TU/e's various student associations - in the fields of sport, culture and social activities - turned out in force Wednesday to present themselves to the Intro participants. Alongside them were the student teams and all the clubs, big and small, also active at TU/e. From a swimming pool to pole dancing, from bouncy castles to a 'total loss' car, everything was geared to recruiting new members or, at least, to have the association's name leave an impression on the newcomers.
Mingling with the crowd, Cursor made a tour of the various fields. We saw groups busy with activities, groups sauntering along and, here and there, a solitary figure who seemed lost. Despite still weighing heavily on some, yesterday's party was an event that created great memories.

So much choice
There are students who know instantly how they want to fill their leisure hours this coming year. “Can I join this team?” was a question we heard asked by Intro participants at the stalls run by University Racing Eindhoven (URE) and at dance association Footloose.
But we also came across students who still had no idea which association would suit them. “We are being bombarded with information. This is only the second day - ever - that we've been on campus and I get the feeling we're already been pressured to sign up somewhere,” said a first-year Data Science. “At the student social associations they are saying there is so much interest that if you don't sign up this week, you'll have to wait a year.”

Party time
Anyone studying at TU/e this year is a lucky soul. The university turns sixty-five - although that makes her positively young among Dutch universities - and that is being celebrated. The Lustrum Gala committee (see the photo above, on the left) has announced that in December students will be welcome at the biggest lustrum gala ever. Will we see you there?
Below is a selection of photos made for Cursor by Lieke Vermeulen. Can you spot yourself?
