Intro 2021 |A quick rest and then on to the City Tour
Having given the campus a thorough going over these past few days, the Intro participants were ready to turn their attention to Eindhoven. Where's the best place to go for a good drink? And what's it like at the various associations? The first-years found out during the City Tour held on Thursday of the Introduction Week.
The Intro program kicked off on Thursday with a session of cultural bonding. At TU/e a whole range of cultures come together: how are they similar to each other and how are they different? And, especially, what's the best way to get on with each other? In the meantime, packed lunches were handed out – and very eagerly received by some. The rumbling stomachs were a dead giveaway that breakfast had been skipped. Three days into Intro and some participants were the worse for wear. Not that the senior students were faring any better, some were leading their group with tired eyes.
But this was no day to take a rest. It was high time the students experienced the City Tour, after all, who can imagine studying without getting to know their student city? What's more, this was the ideal opportunity to take a peek at student associations such as E.S.C, Demos and SSRE. The groups set off from various spots on campus at different times, all heading for the city. The fanatics walked it, the less fanatic cycled it. And Cursor was there too, joining the Tour.
No guided tour of a student city would be worth its salt if it didn't include some games. The students threw themselves into the spirit of things. Hangovers were shaken off and competitive streaks were revealed, never mind being caught in the rain! Photographer Lieke Vermeulen captured a number of these moments. Do you recognize yourself?
