Intro 2019 | Pull out all the stops!
If you didn't know that Eindhoven has a rich network of associations, then we tell you now. During the Green Strip Market, dozens of associations pulled out all the stops to make clear what makes them tick, in completely different ways. One club or organization succeeds in a more creative way than another. A snowboard route in the summer is quite original, playing Jenga and Twister a little less. While strolling around we also bumped into a brand new association and a tap truck.
An E.S.C member tries to go with a snowboard on a route with a plastic mat with a tube on it on the Flux field. He is not an experienced snowboarder, but despite the concerns of a member of the Avalanche Boarders, he still tries. It appears to be difficult to keep standing. A short while later the board member sets a good example, with a jump on the tube - but hey, he has a little more experience.
The Avalanche Boarders is one of the associations that had to come up with something original to show who they are. A little further on you can find the Okawa canoe association with a large swimming pool and two canoes. Also original: at Christian student association Ichthus you can catapult sponges to a sign with an image of David and Goliath. And the fire department shows how to extinguish a flame in a pan.
Car enthusiasts also enjoyed themselves this afternoon. Handy (wo)men who would like to work on cars or exchange ideas about that, can now also visit the Beunbazen student car association in Eindhoven. The association started with twelve members last year and now has around fifty, says Harald List, one of the initiators. And they don’t need to ask for attention today either.
Another newcomer: the tap truck of study association Industria, purchased for the weekly drinks of the association - so they don’t need to take a mobile tap outside the Atlas building anymore.
