Intro 2018 | 'Don’t let Bacardi Cola' turn into Bacardi Cóma'

Intro group 5 of study association Intermate is not easily impressed. Not even at half past eleven in the morning, with a survival course by and over the water, with the risk of getting wet, with blurry glasses, with less sleep than normal and with a somewhat excessive alcohol consumption ahead tonight, the group’s dad confesses.

And the latter is exactly what the Eindhoven youth center Dynamo wants to focus on with its project DAMN YO and Intro assault course. Because there’s nothing wrong with a Bacardi Cola, but don’t let it turn into a Bacardi Coma. You can also have a nice evening without getting completely wasted, is the message this Wednesday morning at the Dommel. And soda counts as a drink as well.

Intro 2018 | There’s no (Stratums)e(i)nd to it.

Until late at night there was a party last night and this time it was at Stratumseind, Eindhoven’s most famous cafe and party street. The party was mainly about foam; foam on the street from where you could follow the trace to the foamparty and there were the collars of foam on the beer. Intro 2018 | Tasting and smelling beer

"Are there students who are still 17?", is the first question that is asked during the beer brewing workshop that was held in Helix this afternoon. Boris Zwaan, a third-year Chemical Engineering student, brews beer at home and would like to explain this to the intro kids. Of course, the participants can also taste the beer, but there is perhaps even more to smell.

Intro 2018 | Surfing: "On dry land it’s a breeze"

The wind blows in gusts, sometimes earlier than expected, which isn’t ideal if you want to learn how to surf. Boom, pull-up rope and sail, on the grass you can handle these things but it is more difficult with the moving water level below you. Student Surf Association Weth gave workshops at the IJzeren Man to teach the intro kids how to luff and bear-away (going towards the wind or going with the wind).

Waking up in a fraternity house with only male residents and sleepover guests, and a bra in your bed. This is part of the mystery of every Intro, this year with GEWIS kid Gijs in the leading role.

Intro 2018 | Thêta: selective because it is necessary

With 26 degrees there’s no better place to chill than by (or at) the water. You could do exactly this at student rowing association Thêta this Wednesday, where also the other student water sports clubs from Eindhoven presented themselves.

Intro 2018 | We’re not even halfway there yet #video

They were delivered a day late, but not a bit too early for you. The Cursor beach chairs were eagerly used this Tuesday, at the market hall of MetaForum. This to our great joy (of course!) and concern: we’re just about one and a half day down the line and there are already so many horizontally hanging Intro offspring? We hate to break it to you, folks: we’re not even halfway there yet.

Intro 2018 | 'Let's get wet' doesn’t mind some wetness

It is not the easiest group, according to the mom and dad, but a very nice one. And a kind one. They keep seeing each other for at least half a year, because that's the way it goes in Chemical Engineering. Group 2, 'Let's get wet', has mentioned this name suits them "because we don’t mind some wetness".
