Intro 2018 | One fallen beer tank, everything else okay
The first day of the Intro 2018 has come to an end with the opening party at the Flux field Monday evening (but hey, the night is still young). The organizing CIC looks back at a successful start of the week, with just one setback: a fallen and therefore unusable beer tank.
Intro organizer Stijn van Himste is sitting (or actually: lying) on his beanbag on the balcony of the CIC headquarters on Monday evening around half past ten, his laptop folded open on his lap. Hundreds of intro enthusiasts and their intro parents are celebrating with Mr. Belt & Wezol at the Flux field in front of him.
“It was a successful first day”, says Van Himste, “with hardly any problems - or at most small issues that could be tackled quickly. Everything is going well, we were well prepared, everyone has their job and we have some allround help, so we can respond quickly to situations", he sums up satisfied. "We also get good responses from people."
Thousand liters of barley
The only unpleasant surprise of the day was a delivered beer tank for the party Monday evening, which plummeted when the truck was unloaded. The connection of the tank, containing thousand liters of barley, was damaged and it leaked. However, the supplier was able to deliver a new tank "within two, three hours", well in time for the opening party in the evening.
