Elections for the student factions sitting on the University Council and the departmental councils were  held on December 6th and 7th. In terms of turnout, the UR election saw a slight increase compared to last year. A rise from nearly 38 percent to almost 41 percent. In the elections for the departmental councils, Chemical Engineering and Chemistry was the undisputed frontrunner, with a turnout of 64 percent.

According to the chairperson of the Central Polling Agency, Andy van Eggelen, two attempts at hacking were made during the election period, neither of which was successful.
