“A creative study results in your brain always searching for crazy ideas”, says Tom Raijmakers. One of those ideas originated at a party three years ago. “We were wondering about the actual lyrics to 'La Bamba'. Brainstorming, we came to the conclusion it had to be ‘French cheese with Jolanda’.” The first verse was a no-brainer, but the second was only written three weeks ago, when the friends decided it was time to carry out their initial plan. The lyrics don’t refer to a specific Jolanda, “but this song is dedicated to Jolandas around the world”. They’ll be making “a festive” video on Monday, probably in a student house. Although they’re doing it just for fun, they will try and market their song nonetheless.
