TU/e at Strijp S during Dutch Design Week
During the Dutch Design Week (October 18-26), designs by TU/e and Design United will not be displayed on campus. TU/e expects the new location, the Klokgebouw at Strijp S, to attract a wider audience. Mind the Step is a joint exhibition of TU/e and Design United, showing designs in six themes that have a major impact on society.
In previous years, the hall of the Hoofdgebouw and the second floor of Vertigo were part of the Dutch Design Week route, but the locations were only visited by a modest number of visitors. “The upside of the new location is that people can see TU/e offers design programs right away”, says dr. Lucas Asselbergs, project manager of TU/e DDW. “The good thing about the Klokgebouw is that it attracts a much bigger audience, including businesses, authorities, and press. It’s a chance to show them Dutch Design isn’t just tableware and fashion, but about the design of systems and technology as well.”
