Automotive started as a track within the bachelor of Electrical Engineering in 2011. Out of the 26 students who started back then, six completed the program in exactly three years: Texas van Leeuwenstein, Wilco Pesselse, Tom Steentjes, Raymond Wouters, Koen Bastiaens, and Joep Wolken. Five of them accepted their diplomas today, the sixth graduate couldn’t be there.

Initiator of the Automotive bachelor’s program Maarten Steinbuch delivered a speech in the Blauwe Zaal, in which he prized the students for being close-knit test subjects who’ve overcome the growing pains of the new track, and always thought along constructively.

Today, the program consists of 102 students, 49 of whom started this year. The combined bachelor’s track Electrical Engineering/Automotive was recently awarded with the title ‘top-rated program’ by Elsevier’s Keuzegids (selection guide) 2015.
