TU/e best in collaboration with industry
Of all universities in the world, TU/e collaborates most with the industry. This shows from the Leiden Ranking that was published this afternoon by research agency CWTS. Of all Eindhoven scientific publications, fifteen percent is realized with the help of the industry. TU/e has topped the list ever since it was first published in 2009.
Of 5,700 publications TU/e published between 2009-2012, fifteen percent lists one or more authors from the industry in its bibliography. Although last year’s score was slightly higher at 15.6 percent, it’s still high enough to top the list of the Leiden-based CWTS.
The Netherlands does a good job anyway when it comes to collaborating with the industry. Apart from TU/e, the ranking also lists TU Delft (4), Wageningen University (31), and Twente University (43) in its top 50. CWTS Leiden Ranking scores 750 universities in the world on a number of academic performance indicators, both regarding the impact of publications, and collaboration with other universities and the industry.
The ranking of articles published in the highest-rated scientific journals list TU/e in 94th position, which is the same as last year. Leiden University is the best Dutch university in this ranking, listed on 53, followed by VU Amsterdam in 64th position. Tilburg University, which has entered the ranking for the first time this year is the lowest-ranked Dutch university (252), ways away from TU Delft at 148.
