Team Energy roadshow
The road to the second edition of the Energy Cafe on April 30, members of Team Energy will be going around campus to get their organization known. Among other things, they’ll be handing out free coffee at the Auditorium and showing a home-made video during several lectures of various programs. Team Energy was founded late last year, and is a club for TU/e students who are interested in the energy issue.
Just like the first time, the second Energy Cafe will be hosted by Cafe Wilhelmina in the city center of Eindhoven. The central theme of the discussion is how we may use empty buildings to generate energy. With 45 spirited students, the first edition back in February was a success, says Team Energy’s Minke Goes. “It’s pretty much our maximum capacity. Should there be more interest, we’ll have to organize more meet-ups.”
Team Energy was founded by TU/e students who felt the university lacked a place where energy research and education are united, and where you can find all energy-related events, says the master student of Sustainable Energy Technology. “There’s a lot going on in the field of energy, all we have to do is collect those activities and promote them. There’s a website with information, and we join students through our Energy Cafes. We’re also involved with the organization of Energy Days.”
To promote their club, Team Energy shot a video that explains what they do. The video will be shown at several preselected lectures of nearly all programs at TU/e. Goes: “We want to inform students that they can visit our stand and sign up for our newsletter.”
Courses that can expect a visit from Team Energy include Thermal Physics (Applied Physics), Chemical Reactor Engineering (Chemical Engineering), Strategy, Organization, and Change (Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences), Housing and Residential Real Estate (Built Environment), Decentralized Energy Generation (Sustainable Energy Technology), and Vehicle Dynamics and Power Trains (Automotive).
