Noche de Tuna gives Eindhoven a Spanish atmosphere
By chance hearing Spanish music groups play in the street or in a pub; it may happen again on Friday and Saturday September 20 and 21, when the ‘Noche de Tuna V’ festival will be held. Four Spanish Tuna groups are coming to Eindhoven and our ‘own’ Tuna Ciudad de Luz and La Tuniña will also be roaming the streets.
The visiting Tuna groups come from Madrid, Malaga and Seville. On Friday night they will perform in four pubs. In a relaxed atmosphere they sing merry student songs or present intimate serenades, whatever may be desired at that particular moment. On the way between The Little One Bar in Jan van Lieshoutstraat, Café Publiek in the Markt and Café Dommel and Café Sowiso at Dommelstraat, the guitars nor the singers will pause, filling the streets with music.
Saturday afternoon will see the six Tuna groups join forces at the Wim van Doornekiosk, at the back of the Parktheater Eindhoven. Between 14:00 and 19:00 hours they will perform on stage, competing for prizes. Samba band Bloco Barulho will also appear on the scene.
Tuna Ciudad de Luz and La Tuniña organize a tuna festival every year. On some occasions the setup may be bigger – the Tuna festival- and on others slightly smaller, like this time.Noche de Tuna gives Eindhoven a Spanish atmosphere
