“We’re hoping to collect at least 100,000 plastic bottles,” says Monique Kuyck, head of Services at Internal Affairs. The project starts at the Sports Center, Auditorium, Gemini and MetaForum and will run for half a year initially.

Reason for the initiative was the Executive Board’s memorandum on sustainability. “We’ve studied that and checked what we’re not yet doing, but would like to do. That included better waste management. We ripped up several garbage bags to find out what they contained, so we’ve been foot-deep in garbage, quite literally,” says Kuyck.
