What’s the greatest thing about the RoboCup? Tweaking the software for hours on end (often into the night), until finally you’ve created a team of robots that can actually play football together. The amazed expressions on the faces of the audience upon realizing we don’t use any joysticks because the robots operate autonomously will always be pretty cool, too!
What’s most stressful for you this week? Perfecting and tuning the software of our new ball-handling system. All robots will be equipped with this new system for the World Championships, but that means we’ll have to make it work properly in time!
Who should definitely visit the Cup in June? Everyone, I’d say. It’s a unique opportunity to witness lots of awesome robotics projects from up close. On top of that, it’s free, and visitors can finally cheer on a national soccer team that wins!
