Jammed brake cause for small fire Vertigo

Yesterday, a jammed brake in the engine room of the elevator system caused smoke to develop on the eleventh floor of Vertigo. The entire building was evacuated. Three members of the Emergency Response Team were taken to the hospital as a precaution, since they had been exposed to the smoke. The alert came in at 12.19PM, and everything was under control again shortly after 1PM. Everyone was allowed back in. Two elevators at Vertigo are still in service.
