Thebe has been split apart by a war. The twins Eteokles and Polyneikes both want to take the rule of the city after their father, Oedipus, abdicated. The war has ended with the death of both brothers, but does this also mean that the peace has returned? Or is this just an illusion? One brother gets a worthy burial, the other is put outside the city wall for being a traitor.
This is the story of Antigone, who has lost both her brothers at the same time; But also of Kreon, their uncle, who now has all the power over Thebe; And of Hemon, who is split between his father, Kreon, and his fiancé, Antigone.
